The official website of A Couple Of Cuckoos anime announced on Sep 13, 2022, that it’ll be having an hour long special program, which will air on Oct 1, 2022. The program will air two consecutive episodes of the anime, i.e., episode 23 & 24.

Prior to the final episode, a special program will be held for three weeks on Sep 17, 24 & 29. Kaito Ishikawa, who voices the protagonist Nagi Umino, will take part in the special program, and will share his thoughts and some BTS experience of the recording session of the series.

The scenes from the anime that created a lot of reactions on SNS, as well as famous scenes of Erika, Sachi and Hiro will also be broadcast during the program.

Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySP are responsible for animating the series, with Hiroaki Akagi and Yoshiyuki Shirahata serving as the chief director and director respectively. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is supervising the series scripts while Aya Takano is in charge of character designs.

Kaito Ishikawa, Akari Kito, and Nao Toyama voices the protagonists Nagi Umino, Erika Amano, and Hiro Segawa respectively.

A Couple Of Cuckoos anime ran for 2 cours. The first cour of the anime premiered on April 24, 2022. On July 10, 2022 a promotional video for the second cours starting on July 23 was released. Eir Aoi performed the new ending theme song “HELLO HELLO HELLO”.

A Couple of Cuckoos (Kakkou no Inazuke) is a manga written and illustrated by Miki Yoshikawa. It was originally published as a one-shot in September 2019, before beginning serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in January 2020. The chapters have been compiled into 11 tankobon volumes as of April 2022.

The plot of A Couple Of Cuckoos is described as:

Nagi Umino is a 17-year old second-year high school student who learns that he is not the biological child of the family that raised him. On the way to his first meeting with his biological family he meets Erika Amano, a popular internet celebrity who is trying to escape from an arranged marriage. Later, Nagi and Erika discover that their parents had accidentally switched the two after their births and were now aiming to put them in an arranged marriage. To facilitate this, they are made to live in a house owned by Erika’s family.
