According to a recent survey carried out by education and publishing company Benesse, school children in Japan admired Tanjiro Kamado, the protagonist of Demon Slayer, more than their own parents. Shinobu Kocho, another Demon Slayer character, came third in the results.
Benesse surveyed 7,661 kids from third to sixth grade, who were enrolled in the Shinkenzemi Elementary School Course. It should not come as a shock that Tanjiro won the survey because 30% of these children chose Demon Slayer as their favourite thing from 2020.
Moms came second in the poll, followed by Shinobu Kocho, Teachers and the Father. The rest of the top 10 list was dominated by Demon Slayer characters, Mantan web reported.
- Tanjirō Kamado (618 votes)
- My Mom (393 votes)
- Shinobu Kocho (315 votes)
- My Teacher (229 votes)
- My Dad (171 votes)
- Giyū Tomioka (165 votes)
- Nezuko Kamado (163 votes)
- Kyōjuro Rengoku (151 votes)
- Zenitsu Agatsuma (150 votes)

Another poll carried out by Oricon Monitor Research found that over 95% of the people who took part in their polls were familiar with Demon Slayer. 40.5% of participants said they “very familiar” with Demon Slayer series, while 57.3% said that they were “familiar with the name.”
Of the 3,848 members who responded to the poll, 1,182 respondents said they “liked” or “really liked” the series, Otakomu reported.
Demon Slayer: Mugen Train movie has been on a roll in the Japanese box office recently. It became the first movie since Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away to cross the 30 billion yen mark at the Japanese Box Office.
