REMOW Corporation, a Japanese visual content distribution company, with the aim of expanding its reach in global markets has raised 230 million yen. It received funding from industry legends like Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions, Toei, Hakuhodo DY music and pictures, ADK emotions. Along with these Japanese companies, Taiwan based NADA HOLDINGS CORP will also be serving as underwriters.
In its first round of fund raising the company raised 1.28 billion yen in May 2022. The companies that took part in the first round are Kansai Telecasting Corporation, Shueisha, DeNA, TV Tokyo, Toei Animation, Nihon Eiga Hoso, Fuji Media Holdings and others participated.
REMOW was established with aim of assuring global reach for Japanese video works. It has built its own services and distribution network. The company currently focuses on digital distribution of live-action series and movies. It majorly emphasizes its focus on anime due to its high demand.
The company has tie ups with anime distribution company Animeica LLP which distributes anime to Apple TV+ and other platforms.
REMOW has capital and business alliance with Anime Onegai S. De R.L. De C.V. Anime Onegai focuses on developing Japanese anime specialized service in all over Latin America. It provides SVOD format for streaming which is basically a monthly subscription based model. It also provides AVOD model which generates revenue from ads streaming on the platform while the user pays nothing to use the services.
