On 26th October, publisher conglomerate KADOKAWA announced that its overseas consolidated subsidiary, Kadokawa Taiwan Corporation (Kadokawa Taiwan), launched and started operation of the novel serialization platform “KadoKado” which features everything in traditional Chinese characters.
In “KadoKado”, including the latest hit series of the novel posting site “Kakuyomu” operated by KADOKAWA, titles like “How to Raise a Dull Girlfriend” series, “Full Metal Panic!” Series, “Problem Children There are also popular light novel works licensed by KADOKAWA will be posted sequentially.
In addition, KadoKado has formed a contract with Taiwanese original writers and is planning to serialize the latest works and provide them exclusively on this platform including works of famous writers one by one.
A total of 15 people including Su Chia-min the author of “Kazedo Naru”, Oba, the author of the “Oni-Kai” series has been introduced as the first serialization.
Kadokawa Taiwan started developing Japanese light novels in 2003 and has established and established a new genre called “light novels” in Greater China. Since 2008, it has been developing original light novels in Greater China through contests and other events. We are also focusing on discovering new generation writers.
In response to the recent trend of digitalization, the e-book platform “BOOK ☆ WALKER TAIWAN” started in 2015, and we have been exploring the possibility of expanding the IP of the entertainment genre more widely.
Kadokawa Taiwan plays a central role in the KADOKAWA Group’s overseas strategy, including growing it into a site that boasts top-level access in the travel gourmet field in Taiwan.
