The official website of Mushoku Tensei Season 2 unveiled a new key visual on Dec 10, 2022, featuring a grown Rudeus.

It was also revealed that the anime’s production committee has selected Yumi Uchiyama to continue voicing grown-up Rudeus, after her auditioning for the said role.

Here is what Uchiyama had to say regarding her role:

“I have decided to play the role of Rudeus in the second season. The growth of Rudeus is a very important element in the work, so I am very proud that I was chosen after a thorough audition. I will keep this feeling in mind as I carefully work on Rudeus.“

Mushoku Tensei season 2 of the anime is set to release in 2023. Crunchyroll will be simulcasting the anime along with Japan in  North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.

Season 1 of the anime aired from January to December 2021 in two cours.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is a Japanese light novel series by Rifujin na Magonote and illustrated by Shirotaka. Originally published on the internet web novel website Shosetsuka ni Naro in November 2012, a year later it was announced the series would receive a print release under Media Factory’s MF Books imprint with illustrations done by a Pixiv user called Shirotaka.

A manga adaptation by Yuka Fujikawa began serialization in the June 2014 issue of Monthly Comic Flapper. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the tankōbon volumes of the manga for localization in North America. The company also has licensed the original light novels.

As of February 2022, over 10 million copies of the light novels have been sold worldwide.

MAL describes the plot of the anime as:

Despite being bullied, scorned, and oppressed all of his life, a 34-year-old shut-in still found the resolve to attempt something heroic—only for it to end in a tragic accident. But in a twist of fate, he awakens in another world as Rudeus Greyrat, starting life again as a baby born to two loving parents.

Preserving his memories and knowledge from his previous life, Rudeus quickly adapts to his new environment. With the mind of a grown adult, he starts to display magical talent that exceeds all expectations, honing his skill with the help of a mage named Roxy Migurdia. Rudeus learns swordplay from his father, Paul, and meets Sylphiette, a girl his age who quickly becomes his closest friend.

As Rudeus’ second chance at life begins, he tries to make the most of his new opportunity while conquering his traumatic past. And perhaps, one day, he may find the one thing he could not find in his old world—love.
