Gege Akutami Reveals His Thoughts On Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4

Jujutsu Kaisen manga creator Gege Akutami recently shared his thoughts on the latest episode of anime’s second season, which aired on July 27, 2023.

Akutami expressed his gratitude saying, “Thanks for season 2 episode 4!!” and also praised the animation studio for their expansion of the battle’s direction and setting.

He expressed delight in how the production team had expanded upon his “half-ass feedback”. The author had apparently suggested that as long as the fight inside the Tombs of the Star Corridor didn’t reach the root of the tree, it should suffice.

However, to his surprise, the studio brilliantly executed the idea, leaving him in awe.

One noteworthy aspect that caught Akutami’s attention was the apparent fondness of the staff for the character Rainbow Dragon.

Furthermore, Akutami praised the anime adaptation for granting Geto cooler and more innovative ways to utilize his techniques that wasn’t as prominently depicted in the original manga.

While acknowledging his limited knowledge in the animation field, Akutami shared his inclination to discuss directing styles and key animation aspects. However, he also recognized the complexity of the animation process, involving numerous roles such as photography, backgrounds, sound, and many other critical components. He expressed deep gratitude to the countless individuals who pour their hearts and souls into making the anime a reality.

Thanks for season 2 episode 4!!

They somehow expanded the direction and setting of the battle based on my half-ass feedback where I was like “for the fight inside the Tombs of the Star Corridor, as long as it doesn’t make it to the root of the tree, it should be fine!!” Amazing!!

I somehow got the feeling that the staff really like Rainbow Dragon…

Geto somehow learned cooler ways to use his technique compared to in the manga.

I’m not actually that knowledgeable yet so I tend to talk more about directing style or key animation, but there are many processess and roles involved in animation, like photography, backgrounds, sound, and manu more processes done by a ton of people working very hard!! So thaaaank you to everyone!!
