The official website for Encouragement of Climb Next Summit anime unveiled a new trailer for the series on Aug 11, 2022. The trailer reveals an Oct 4, 2022, release date for the anime, and features the opening theme ‘Omoi Nochi Hare’.

The anime will be broadcast on Tokyo MX, MBS, and BS11 in Japan.

A second key visual was also revealed along with the trailer. The visual features Aoi Yukimura, Hinata Kuraue, Kaede Saito, Kokona Aoba, and Honoka Kurosaki at the top of Mt. Fuji.

The anime is slated to run for 12 episodes, which are 30-minutes long. This is a first for the franchise as the previous seasons only had 15-minute episodes. Moreover, the first four episodes of the anime will be compilation episodes of the past seasons, with episode 5 onwards having completely new stories.

Additionally, Autumn Fes 2022 will take place on Oct 2, 2022 at Hanno Civic Hall in Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture, in which the six main cast members of the anime will be present.

Koharu Senjuin is a new addition to the cast, and will play the red haired, Emiri Iwai.

Encouragement of Climb is a slice-of-life manga series written and illustrated by Shiro, which began serialization in Earth Star Entertainment’s Comic Earth Star magazine in 2011.

An anime television series by Eight Bit aired in Japan between January and March 2013 and was simulcasted by Crunchyroll. A second season aired from July to December 2014.

An original video animation was released in October 2017, and a third season aired from July to September 2018.

The plot of Encouragement of Climb is described as:

Aoi Yukimura is a quiet girl who prefers staying indoors and is afraid of heights. When she reunites with her childhood friend Hinata Kuraue, who is outgoing and loves mountaineering, they decide to climb a mountain together, in order to see a sunrise they saw together when they were younger. Along the way, they meet several other girls who are also interested in the outdoors, and begin a series of adventures on various mountains across Japan.
