The official website of Dead Dead Demon’s De De De De Destruction anime film unveiled a new trailer for its second part on March 28, 2024.

The website also revealed additional cast members that will be appear in the second part of the film.

Newly announced cast includes:

• Chiharu Sawashiro as Ojiro-senpai
• Saori Onishi as Hikari Sumaru
• Kenichiro Matsuda as Takarada
• Kengo Kawanishi as Taro Miura
• Masafumi Kobatake as Ogino

Moreover, Naoto Takenaka will make a special appearance in the film as the head of the invaders. Takenaka, who directed the live-action adaptation of Inio Asano’s work Reiraku last year, expressed his joy at being offered the role, stating that he is happy to be a part of author’s work again.

“I am a big fan of Inio-san. I was drawn to the world that Inio-san depicts and turned ‘Reiraku’ into a movie.. However, after it was completed, I was hit by a tremendous loneliness. But!! I am able to enter Inio-san’s world again as a voice actor! I am so happy!! I hope to share Inio-san’s ever-evolving world with everyone!“

 Dead Dead Demon’s De De De De Destruction second part will hit the Japanese theatres on May 24, 2024. Part one of the film released on March 22, 2024.

Tomoyuki Kurokawa is directing the films, with Reiko Yoshida in charge of scripts. Nobutake Ito is serving as character designer and chief animation director, and Mika Nishimura as the art director. Taro Umebayashi is composing music.

As previously revealed, Production +h. is producing the anime films. This will be the first ever anime adaptation of Inio Asano’s works.

Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Inio Asano. It was serialized in Shogakukan’s seinen manga magazine Big Comic Spirits from April 2014 to February 2022, with its chapters collected in 12 tankōbon volumes. In North America, Viz Media licensed the manga for English release.

By March 2022, Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction had over 3 million copies in circulation. In 2021, the manga won the 66th Shogakukan Manga Award in the general category, as well as the Excellence Award of the 25th Japan Media Arts Festival in 2022.
