Shonen Jump+ and Marvel Entertainment have teamed up to release a spin-off manga on the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse film.
The manga is titled Spider-Man: Octopus Girl, and will begin serialization on Shonen Jump+ on June 20, 2023.
The spinoff begins with battle between the Spider-Man and Dr. Octopus, who then falls into a state of coma. Upon awakening, due to uncertain circumstances, Dr. Octopus finds himself in the body of a Japanese middle school girl, Otoba Okuda.
The story for Spider-Man: Octopus Girl is by Hideyuki Furuhashi, with the art by Betten Court, the duo behind the creation of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes manga.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is an upcoming American animated superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales / Spider-Man. Produced by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation in association with Marvel Entertainment, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, it is the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and is set in a shared multiverse of alternate universes called the “Spider-Verse”.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is scheduled for theatrical release in the United States on June 2, 2023. LiSA performed the theme song “REALiZE” for the film’s Japanese dub.
