American manga publishing company Viz Media announced on Dec 13, 2022, that they have increased the subscription prices of their Shonen Jump service to USD 2.99. The previous subscription charges were USD 1.99.
The new rates will be in effect from January 2023.
Viz Media added that payments on the platform through PayPal will no longer be accepted, starting Jan 17, 2023.
Viz’s Shonen Jump service simultaneously releases the latest chapters from the manga that are serializing in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump and also select titles from Shonen Jump + service and others.
The chapters are published in English and can be accessed from United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, the Philippines, Singapore, and India using either the app or from Viz Media’s website.
The first three chapters and the latest three chapters of a manga are always free to read on Viz’s Shonen Jump service.
