The official website of Annecy International Film Festival announced that they will be screening Masaaki Yuasa’s Inu-Oh, and Yasuhiro Yoshiura’s Sing A Bit of Harmony at their special screening events. In addition to these two films, WIT Studio’s The Girl From The Other Side will also be screened as a part of the festival’s midnight screening program.
The schedule for screening the movies are as follows;
- Inu-Oh: June 16 (19:00 hrs), June 18 (10:00 hrs)
- Sing A Bit Of Harmony: June 17 (20:30 hrs), June 18 (14:30 hrs)
- The Girl From The Other Side: June 13 (21:00 hrs), June 16 (22:00 hrs)
Masaaki Yuasa will also be taking a masterclass at this year’s Annecy Festival.
It was previously announced that Goodbye, Don Glees!, directed by Atsuko Ishizuka, and The House of the Lost on the Cape, directed by Shinya Kawatsura, were selected to screen in the Official Feature Films category at this year’s competition.
Shingo Natsume and Madhouse’s original science-fiction anime Sonny Boy‘s first episode too has been selected for screening in TV Films category at Annecy Festival 2022.
2022’s Annecy Festival will run from June 13 to 18, 2022.
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival was created in 1960 and takes place at the beginning of June in the town of Annecy, France. Initially occurring every two years, the festival became an annual event in 1998. It is one of the four international animated film festivals sponsored by the International Animated Film Association.
The festival is a competition between animated films of various techniques (traditional, cut-outs, claymation, 3DCG, etc.) classified in various categories:
- Feature films
- Short films
- Films produced for television and advertising
- Student films
- Films made for the internet (since 2002)
- Feature films contrechamp in competition (since 2007)
