Masaoki Shindo, the author of the newly serialized Ruri Dragon manga, issued an apology to the readers of the series for taking a break from the upcoming issue #33 of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
The series had taken a break owing to the author’s poor health.
Shindo said in his apology that he stopped taking care of his health and has been feeling sick for a while.
“…I have been feeling sick for a while and I had to take a week off. I am sorry it has to be like this with my first series. I have been really busy with all these new first things, and stopped taking care of my health,” Shindou wrote.
The author then went on to say that he would use this break to get himself in shape and apologized to everyone involved with Ruri Dragon manga, its fans and also the main character Ruri herself.
“I will take this time to get myself in shape. Sorry to everyone involved with Ruri Dragon and to everyone reading the series every week. Sorry to you too, Ruri. Thank you for enjoying this work so much even though it has just started,” the apology read.
Shindo also drew a special illustration along with this apology.
The manga will resume in issue #34 of Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine.
Ruri Dragon is Shindo’s first manga to be serialized. It started publishing in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from June 2022. The English translated version of the manga is published in Shueisha’s MANGA PLUS service. The manga’s North American release is handled by Viz Media.
Viz describes the plot of manga as follows:
Ruri faces the usual issues: pushy classmates, annoying teachers and…waking up with dragon horns?!
