In his message to fans published in Weekly Shonen Jump issue #35 on Aug 1, 2022, author Yuki Tabata said that he has done his best to make Black Clover manga’s final arc exceed the expectations of fans.

“Though it was a short break, I have done my best to exceed your expectations for this final arc [of Black Clover],” Tabata wrote in the message.

The author also added that he would do his best to not give in to the difficulties of weekly serialization and thanked the readers for supporting the series.

“I’ve got an anime movie coming up, and I’m going to do my best not to give in to the difficulties of a weekly serialization, so please continue to support us,” the author wrote. “Thank you so much to all the readers who have been waiting for it [Black Clover] during the long hiatus!”

Black Clover manga resumed serialization after a three month break in Weekly Shonen Jump issue #35, entering its final arc. The manga had been on a hiatus for “about 3 months” from issue #23 of Weekly Shonen Jump. Tabata was on a break to rest and plan the final arc of the manga.

According to Tabata’s message, “Asta and the others will face even more difficulties on their way to becoming the Magic Emperor”.

Black Clover is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yūki Tabata. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since February 2015, with its chapters collected in 32 tankōbon volumes as of April 2022.

The manga was first adapted into an original video animation produced by Xebec Zwei, released in 2017. An anime television series adaptation produced by Pierrot aired in Japan on TV Tokyo from October 2017 to March 2021. An anime film is set to premiere in 2023.
