WIT STUDIO 10th Anniversary ‘Aim Higher’ Opens Special Exhibition

The event will feature the Studio's progress over 10 years through its various work materials.

The “WIT STUDIO 10th Aim Higher” event exhibition commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Studio opened on Friday, May 27, 2022, at PARCO FACTORY on the 7th floor of the Ikebukuro PARCO Main Building in Tokyo. The exhibition will continue till June 20.

The event will feature the Studio’s progress over 10 years through its various work materials.

“WIT STUDIO 10th Aim Higher” Twitter account shared a collection of images on May 26, 2022 as a preview for the exhibition which was being held.

Visitors will be welcomed by a special tenth anniversary PV that was released on May 24. It has a collection of some of WIT Studio’s acclaimed works such as Vinland Saga, Ranking of Kings, Spy x Family, Great Pretender, Seraph of the End, and After The Rain, among others. The PV features the song “Sakugasaku” by Uchikubigokumon-Doukoukai.

The exhibition starts with exhibits from Ranking of the Kings anime. The visual of the main character Bodge stands out in this section, along with the content and original pictures from the opening of the anime. A red carpet, which is similar to the one seen in the throne room of the anime, is also present as a part of the exhibition.

Next-up for visitors is the exhibition area for the anime Vampire in the Garden, which features production materials from the series, including character setting images and original drawings with drawing correction instructions by character designer and animation director Tetsuya Nishio.

Visitors are then led to the exhibition area for the anime Onipan!, featuring colorful and bright walls with art from the anime, which is then followed by the largest event space for SPY x FAMILY exhibits. This section features a wide range of original drawings, actions scenes from the anime and a wall dedicated to Anya’s gag scenes.

In the exhibition area for Bubble, a video in which director Tetsuro Araki talks about his thoughts on the production of the anime is on display along with other materials from the movie.

Furthermore, works such as Attack on Titan, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, The Ancient Magus’ Bride, Koi, Like after the rain, Rolling Girls, Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song-, The Empire of Corpses, Kedama no Gonjiro, and many other titles had their visuals all over the venue.

The exhibition event will also sell limited event merchandise from all the Wit Studio works in the form of acrylic stands, posters, badges, stickers, and many more.

WIT Studio was founded by Production I.G.’s producer George Wada on June 1, 2012. The current director of the studio is Tetsuya Nakatake. WIT currently employs around 130 animators, including Kyoji Asano, Satoshi Kadowaki, and Tetsuro Araki.

The studio gained popularity when they animated the first three seasons of Attack on Titan from 2013 to 2019. In recent years they have worked on Ranking of Kings (2021) and more recently Spy x Family (currently airing, done in collaboration with CloverWorks).
