Kodansha USA announced on June 9, 2023, that Vinland Saga author Makoto Yukimura will make his debut appearance at San Diego Comic Con International 2023.

Yukimura will be present at Kodansha’s booth #5542, featuring Vinland Saga, and will participate in signings, con-exclusive giveaways and additional surprises that will be announced by the publisher as the date of the event approaches closer.

Makoto Yukimura is a Japanese manga artist best known for Vinland Saga. The series is published by Kodansha, and was first serialized in the boys-targeted manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine before moving to the monthly manga magazine Monthly Afternoon, aimed at young adult men.

As of May 2022, its chapters have been collected in 26 tankobon volumes. Vinland Saga has been licensed for English-language publication by Kodansha USA.

A 24-episode anime television series adaptation, animated by Wit Studio, aired on NHK General TV from July to December 2019. A second season, animated by MAPPA, premiered on Tokyo MX and BS11 in January 2023.

San Diego Comic-Con International is a comic book convention and non-profit multi-genre entertainment event held annually in San Diego, California, since 1970.

The 2023 edition of the convention will take place from July 20 to July 23 at the San Diego Convention Center.
