The official website of Uncle From Another World anime announced on Sep 9, 2022, that the anime will be facing a delay of more than two months, before new episodes start airing.

According to the announcement, episode 8 onwards of the anime will be streamed sequentially from Nov 24, 2022. Episodes 1-7 of the anime will be rebroadcast till then.

The delay was attributed to the spread of COVID-19 among the staff.

“Due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, broadcasting and distribution from episode 8 onward have been temporarily suspended. From Thursday, we will start broadcasting again from the first episode. Episode 8 and later will be broadcast and distributed sequentially from November 24 (Thursday),” the announcement read.

The announcement also stated that the production committee of Uncle From Another World will give top priority to the health and safety of the staff involved in the production as they prepare for broadcasting.

This is the second time that Uncle From Another World anime has faced delays in broadcasting.

The release date for the anime’s episode 5-8 had been delayed for two weeks due to the increase in number of the COVID-19 cases within the production company, AtelierPontdarc. The episodes that were originally supposed to air starting on Aug 3, aired on Aug 17, 2022.

Uncle from Another World is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hotondoshindeiru. It started serialization on Kadokawa Shoten’s ComicWalker in June 2018. As of February 2022, seven volumes have been released. The manga is licensed in North America by Yen Press.

An anime television series adaptation was announced on June 18, 2021. The series is produced by AtelierPontdarc and directed by Shigeki Kawai, with Kenta Ihara writing the series’ scripts, Kazuhiro Ota designing the characters, and Kenichiro Suehiro composing the music.

It premiered on July 6, 2022, on AT-X. The opening theme song is “story” by Mayu Maeshima, while the ending theme song is “Ichibanboshi Sonority” by Yuka Iguchi. The series is being streamed worldwide by Netflix.
