Talent agency BaRu released a statement on their official website on Oct 30, 2023, announcing their decision to terminate the contract with the voice actor Junya Ikeda as of Oct 27, 2023.

The decision to severe ties with the voice actor came in the light of Junya Ikeda’s arrest in connection with a special fraud case. BaRu cited the gravity of the situation surrounding the special fraud case as the primary reason for this drastic measure.

However, the agency haven’t had a chance to get in touch with Ikeda due to a visiting restriction imposed on him. Consequently, they could only share limited information, and this has resulted in a significant delay in making the announcement.

Note:- For those unaware, a special fraud comprise of fraudulent activities targeting unacquainted individuals through phone calls or various communication methods. These scams aim to deceive victims into transferring money or other property to a specified account or using other methods. It includes various forms of bank transfer fraud, such as the “It’s me” fraud, billing fraud, advance-fee loan scams, refund scams, as well as other deceptive practices, such as schemes involving fake financial instrument transactions, gambling tips, or dating services.

We regret to inform you that we have terminated our contract with our affiliated actor, Junya Ikeda, as of October 27, 2023. This decision comes in light of Mr. Ikeda’s arrest in connection with a special fraud case, considering the gravity of the situation involving special fraud.

Due to a visitation ban, we have been unable to have contact with Mr. Ikeda, which has resulted in limited information that we can share and a delay in our public announcement. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
