Tonikaku Kawaii Gets New 4-Episode ONA Centered On Highschool Adventures

The official website of Tonikaku Kawaii announced on June 14, 202023, that the series is getting a new 4-episode ONA (original net anime), titled Tonikaku Kawaii Joshi Ko-hen (Tonikawa: Over the Moon for You – High School Days).

Tonikawa: Over the Moon for You – High School Days is set to release on July 12, 2023.

A new trailer and a key visual was revealed to commemorate the announcement.

Cast for the new anime includes:

  • Kaguya Gekkou as Ayane Sakura
  • Yaiba Shirogane asRika Nagae
  • Haru Miyako as Koko Hayashi
  • Mishio Usa as Hina Youmiya
  • Hotaru Kurenai as Ayane Matsuda
  • Hakase Inukai as Hitomi Ueda
  • Jessie Nikotama as Kaori Maeda

Saori Hayami will be performing the opening theme song “plan,” while Tsukasa Yuzaki’s voice actor Akari Kitou will be performing the ending theme song “Guru Guru Live”.

Ikehata Hiroshi will be returning to direct the new ONA at Seven Arcs, with Kazuho Hyodo serving as the scriptwriter. Masakatsu Sasaki is in charge of character designs, and  Endou. will compose the music.

MAL describes the plot of Tonikawa: Over the Moon for You – High School Days as:

Nasa, at the request of his former junior high school teacher, Mr. Yanagi, finds himself entrusted with teaching a programming class at a high school. But here’s the catch—it’s an all-girls’ school. Surrounded by the limitless energy of teenage girls, Nasa tries to maintain his composure, but deep down, he can’t help feeling nervous.

A capricious boyfriend, secret admiration for someone, and a multitude of romantic dilemmas that can’t be solved by programming, Nasa wonders if he can crack the equation of love!

The first season of Tonikaku Kawaii, produced by Seven Arc Studios, aired from October 2020 to December 2020. An OVA titled Tonikaku Kawaii: SNS premiered on Aug 18, 2021.

The second season and its English dub premiered on April 8, 2023.

Fly Me to the Moon is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kenjiro Hata. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday since February 2018, with its chapters collected in 23 tankobon volumes as of March 2023.

In North America, the manga is licensed by Viz Media. As of May 10, 2022, eleven volumes have been released by Viz.
