The official staff for the Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown sequel anime announced on Jan 1st, 2023 that the opening theme “White Noise” is performed by the group Official HiGE DANDISM. Moreover they streamed the clean, credit-less version of the anime’s opening theme:

Previously the staff also revealed the ending theme song for the anime. TUYU will perform the ending theme “Kizutsuke do, itoshi teru”.

The anime will start airing on Jan 7, 2023.

The anime will be available to stream worldwide on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar.

This is a part of expanding the tie-ups between Disney+ and Kodansha, which was announced during the Asia-Pacific content showcase held in Singapore.

Coming to the cast members, Ken Ryuguji aka Draken/Doraken of the series is getting a new voice actor. The previous voice actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki is getting replaced by Masaya Fukunishi. The art director Manabu Otsuzuki was also replaced with Rumi Matsumoto taking over the position for Tokyo Revengers season 2.

The rest of the cast and staff from the previous season will be reprising their roles for the upcoming season.

Newly announced voice cast for the anime includes:

• Mikako Komatsu as Yuzuha Shiba
• Tomokazu Sugita as Taiju Shiba

Tokyo Revengers is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since March 2017, with its chapters collected in 29 tankōbon volumes as of August 2022.

An anime television series adaptation produced by Liden Films, aired from April to September 2021. A live-action film adaptation was released in Japan in July 2021, with its sequel set to be released in 2023.

As of July 2022, the manga had over 65 million copies in circulation, including 7 million copies outside of Japan, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time. In 2020, Tokyo Revengers won the 44th Kodansha Manga Award for the shonen category.

MAL describes the plot of Tokyo Revengers as:

Takemichi Hanagaki’s second year of middle school was the highest point in his life. He had respect, a gang of friends he could count on, and even a girlfriend. But that was twelve years ago. Today, he’s a nobody: a washed-up nonentity made fun of by children and always forced to apologize to his younger boss. A sudden news report on the Tokyo Manji Gang’s cruel murder of the only girlfriend he ever had alongside her brother only adds insult to injury. Half a second before a train ends his pitiful life for good, Takemichi flashes back to that same day 12 years ago, when he was still dating Hinata Tachibana.

After being forced to relive the very same day that began his downward spiral, Takemichi meets Hinata’s younger brother. Without thinking, he admits to his seeming death before flashing back to the past. Takemichi urges him to protect his sister before inexplicably returning to the future. Miraculously, he is not dead. Stranger still, the future has changed. It seems as though Takemichi can alter the flow of time. Given the chance to prevent his ex-girlfriend’s tragic death at the hands of the Tokyo Manji Gang, Takemichi decides to fly through time to change the course of the future.
