To Love Ru Manga Gets A New Special One-Shot

Weekly Shonen Jump magazine’s combined issue, which released on Jan 7, 2023, announced that Saki Hasemi and Kentaro Yabuki’s sci-fi romantic comedy manga, To Love Ru, will be getting a new one-shot on Jan 13, 2023.

The one-shot will be available to read on Shonen Jump+ website. The manga will be launched by Yabuki to commemorate “To Love-Ru-15th Anniversary Original Painting Exhibition,” which will be held in Tokyo from Jan 14-29, 2023.

To Love Ru

To Love Ru manga was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from April 2006 to August 2009, and the chapters collected into 18 tankobon volumes.

It chronicles the life of high school student Rito Yuuki after he meets and accidentally gets engaged to the alien princess Lala Satalin Deviluke.

To Love Ru

To Love Ru is noted for its fan service, with Hasemi and Yabuki admitting that they tested the boundaries of what would be allowed in a shonen manga.

A continuation of the manga called To Love Ru Darkness was serialized in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine from October 2010 to March 2017, and the chapters collected into 18 tankobon volumes.

A 26-episode anime television series adaptation was aired in Japan in 2008, Xebec then produced six original video animation episodes and a 12-episode second season, titled Motto To Love Ru, between 2009 and 2010.
