Voice actor David Wald recently took to X to announce that he will no longer be working with Crunchyroll or returning to voice Gajeel In Fairy Tail.
In a message posted on X, Wald cited ‘abuses that are far too numerous to list’ as the reason behind his departure, teasing that he would reveal details of this in an upcoming broadcast on Twitch.
Wald had recently accused Crunchyroll of mishandling fan mail addressed to him over the past five years.
According to previous posts, Wald claimed that Crunchyroll staff had been opening his mail without permission, discarding fan letters, and distributing items among themselves.
Crunchyroll had responded to this allegation and assured that the company is actively investigating the matter.
They also emphasized that fan interactions with voice talent are vital to anime’s success and underscored its commitment to maintaining privacy for all actors involved.
Wald has voiced prominent characters across several anime series, such as Golgo 13 in Golgo 13, Gajeel Redfox in Fairy Tail, Hannes in Attack on Titan, Bulat in Akame ga Kill!, and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu in My Hero Academia.
