The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie Garners US$502,000 In Its First 3 Days

The movie’s revenue had exceeded 2.18 billion yen at the Japanese Box Office.

The Quintessential Quintuplets movie opened in US in last week and has earned US$502,000 in three days of its release. The movie earned US$266,000 on its opening day on Friday, December 2. It earned US$143,000 on Saturday and an estimated US$93,000 on Sunday.

The movie was released in Japanese audio with English subtitles along with an English dub.

Crunchyroll already has or will release the movie in the following countries:

  • Italy – October 31 (as a special event screening)
  • France – November 3-4 (as a limited release)
  • Spain – November 18-19
  • Australia and New Zealand – December 1
  • United Kingdom and Ireland – December 7-8
  • Germany – March 28, 2023
  • Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, and Hungary – Early 2023

The film was released in Japan on May 20,  debuting at #2 at the Japanese Box office, earning an astonishing 390 million yen (3.06 million USD) with 260,000 attendance on its first 3 days.

The Quintessential Quintuplets is a manga written and illustrated by Negi Haruba. It was serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine from August 2017 to February 2020. The manga’s chapters have been collected into fourteen tankobon volumes.

The manga received an anime adaptation by Tezuka Productions in 2019. A second season by Bibury Animation Studios followed in 2021. Both seasons had 12 episodes each. The 136-minute long movie serves as the conclusion of the series.

The Quintessential Quintuplets manga won the 43rd Kodansha Manga Awards in 2019.
