The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor arc, which is the second season of the anime, will premiere on October 3rd in Japan. The news was revealed in the October issue of Kadokawaw’s Monthly Comic Alive. The season was originally supposed to premiere in July, but was delayed due to the effects of COVID-19 pandemic in Japan.
The second season will adapt the arc of the same name from the light novels of Irregular at Magic High School which is written by Tsutomu Satou. The arc covers volumes 9-11 of the light novels. The novel series which launched in 2008, is coming to an end this September with its 32nd volume.
Risako Yoshida is directing the season at 8-Bit. Original character designer Kana Ishida is credited as the character designer, and Taku Iwasaki is returning to compose the music.
Returning cast members include Yūichi Nakamura as Tatsuya Shiba, Saori Hayami as Miyuki Shiba, and Yōko Hikasa as Angelina Kudō Shields, ANN reported.
The second season of the anime has been long awaited by the fans. The first season of Irregular at Magic High, consisting of 26 episodes, premiered in April 2014. Madhouse had animated the series back then, with Manabu Ono helming the series. According to ANN, The novels have also inspired The irregular at magic high school The Movie: The Girl Who Summons the Stars anime film, which opened in Japan in June 2017.
