The Apothecary Diaries anime will be taking a break from its regular broadcast schedule, with episode 23 of season 2 now confirmed to air a week later than planned.

The announcement was made on the series’ official X account, noting that the episode will not air on June 20 as originally expected. It will instead be released on June 27 at 11:15 p.m. JST on Nippon TV.

According to the statement, the delay is due to programming schedule changes on the network’s end.

A preview video for the 23rd episode has also been revealed.

The Apothecary Diaries season 2 premiered on Jan 10, 2025, with a two-cour run. The second cour began airing on April 4, 2025.

The season is directed by Akinori Fudesaka, who had served as an assistant director for the anime’s first season. Norihiro Naganuma is in charge of series composition.

The Apothecary Diaries season 1 aired from Oct 22, 2023, to March 24, 2024.

Crunchyroll streams the series worldwide outside Asia, in addition to the Middle East, the CIS, and South Asia. Netflix streams the series in select regions of Asia.

The anime is based on the light novel series written by Natsu Hyuga and illustrated by Touko Shino. It was serialized online since 2011 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro.

In the following year, it was acquired by Shufunotomo, who initially published the series as a novel with a single volume in 2012, and then as a light novel series in 2014.

It has been adapted into two manga series in 2017, with one published by Square Enix in Monthly Big Gangan, and another one published by Shogakukan in Monthly Sunday Gene-X.

The light novel is licensed in North America by J-Novel Club.
