TBS announced on Sep 27, 2023, that they will start airing Teasing Master Takagi-san live-action series in March 2024 on their “Drama Stream” midnight programming block.
However, prior to its Japanese release, the live-action series will be available to stream worldwide on Neflix. The date for the Netflix premiere is yet to be revealed.
Accompanying the release date are the details on the main cast members for Teasing Master Takagi-san live-action series.
It was revealed that Rui Tsukishima, who is an exclusive model for Shueisha’s Seventeen magazine, will play the role of Takagi.
Soya Kurokawa, known for his role in Hirokazu Koreeda’s Monster, has been cast as Nishikata.
Moreover, Teasing Master Takagi-san live-action series was entirely filmed on Shodo Island at Kagawa Prefecture, which also served as the setting for the anime adaptation.
Rikiya Imaizumi will serve as the director while also co-writing the scripts with Tomoki Kanazawa and Jun Hagimori.
TBS is producing it in colaboration with Fine Entertainment.
Teasing Master Takagi-san is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Soichiro Yamamoto. The series began serialization in Shogakukan ‘s shonen manga magazine supplement Monthly Shonen Sunday Mini on June 12, 2013, and it moved to the main Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine on July 12, 2016.
As of March 2023, it has been collected in nineteen tankobon volumes.
An anime television series by Shin-Ei Animation aired from January to March 2018. An original video animation (OVA) was released in July 2018. A second season aired from July to September 2019. A third season aired from January to March 2022, and an animated film premiered in June 2022.
