On Friday, Toei Animation’s official twitter account revealed a teaser visual for the 1000th episode of One Piece anime. Episode 1000 should air on November 14th given there are no delays in production.
The visual is a striking image of Kaido, one of the four Emperors of the sea, and Luffy, facing off each other. However, given where the story is right now in the One Piece anime, it would be too early for this face-off to appear in episode 1000.
Fans are speculating that the scene could probably be from the new opening for the 1000th episode. However, some skeptics also voiced concerns about Toei meddling with the pacing to skip to this fight in the landmark episode.
The 1000th episode is also inspiring a video collection of five short dramas titled “We Are One!”. The official drama episodes will launch on the newly opened website of “weareone” and also on the franchise’s YouTube channel on August 30.
A teaser video was also released on July 22, for the upcoming drama collection based on the readers of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga.
The anime adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga premiered in 1999. The 100th manga volume shipped on September 3. Oda published the 1,000th chapter in this year’s combined 5th/6th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on January 4.
