The official Twitter account of Tatsuki Fujimoto‘s Chainsaw Man announced on June 19, 2022, that the mangaka is currently working on a new short one shot, titled FUTSUU ni Kiitekure.
It will release on Jump + on July 4, 2022.
The one shot will be illustrated by Oto Tooda, the creator of the manga Niku wo Hagu.
The Twitter account also unveiled the cover for Fujimoto’s 200 page one shot, Goodbye Eri. It was earlier revealed that the one shot would be compiled and released as a volume on July 4.
Goodbye, Eri launched in Japan on midnight of April 11, 2022. Viz Media and Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service both digitally published the manga.
It is also available in English via the official Shonen Jump + app and website.
Fujimoto published his first serialized manga, Fire Punch, in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ online magazine. It began serialization on April 18, 2016 and was collected into eight tankobon volumes.
The author’s second major work Chainsaw Man, began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump from Dec 3, 2018. The manga won the Kono Manga Sugoi award and the Harvey award. The part two of the series will be releasing this summer.
Fujimoto is an author who has not shied away from creating one-shots and short stories. In fact, he had focused on doing more one shots before the second installation of Chainsaw Man released.
