Sui Ishida’s Choujin X Manga Begins Serialisation

Chojin X began serialising in Tonari no Young Jump web service (comes under the Shueisha family) and also on Manga Plus and Shonen Jump (Viz Media) apps on May 10, 2021.

Sui Ishida’s brand new manga Choujin X began serialising in Tonari no Young Jump web service (comes under the Shueisha family) and also on Manga Plus and Shonen Jump (Viz Media) apps on May 10, 2021. Choujin X, which translates into Superhuman X, revolves around people who have superhuman powers.

MangaPlus describes it as a “superpowered choujin battle action” series. Viz Media had a better quip in their description, which said that “Sometimes to fight a monster, you must become one!”

Ishida put an update on Twitter about the series releasing, catching the fans off-guard.

“My new manga Choujin X is being serialized now!” Ishida wrote on Twitter.

The series does not have a fixed release schedule, with the chapters set to come out when the mangaka finishes them. It seems that readers will have to wait for long for new chapters to drop as he takes things at his own pace.

“I want to draw the background and finishing touches by myself so updates will be at my own pace. Please support me and enjoy in your spare time,” Ishida said, asking fans to enjoy the series as he works on it.

In November 2020, the author of Tokyo Ghoul manga had revealed that he was working on a new series. He claimed to have finished the storyboards for it. As we mentioned before, the art style is very similar to Tokyo Ghoul manga.

Sui Ishida achieved fame for his work in Tokyo Ghoul. Weekly Shonen Jump serialized the manga from 2011 to 2014. The second part of the manga, Tokyo Ghoul: Re serialized from 2014 to 2018. Viz Media released the English translation of both the series.

The series is based in an alternate reality where creatures called Ghouls live amongst humans. They look and act like humans except they feed on humans. The story revolves around a young boy Ken Kaneki who accidentally ends up becoming a half-ghoul. The story focuses on Kens’ struggle to accept his new identity as a ghoul and feeding on humans. The series received critical acclamation, globally.
