After a long hunt for the perfect Anya, the production committee of Spy x Family stage musical adaptation has finally announced on Dec 14, 2022, the cast who has been selected to play the adorable character. And to everyone’s surprise we’ll be getting not one but four Anyas to make the stage musical very WAKU WAKU!

The controversial casting requirements for the role of Anya in the Spy x Family musical had previously been questioned for its bizarre conditions.

Spy x Family‘s musical adaptation will be performed at the Imperial Theatre in Tokyo from March 8 – 29, 2023. It will then proceed to hold performances across Japan in April and May.

G2 will be in charge of directing the musical adaptation of Spy x Family, along with handling the story and screenplay. Shuhei Kamimura will serve the role of music director and composer.

The plot of the musical is described by Toho Stage as follows:

The man is a spy , the girl is a psychic, and the woman is an assassin. World peace is entrusted to these three people! ? The story of a slightly strange “temporary family” of three people who grew up without knowing the “ordinary family”.

The musical is based on Tatsuya Endo’s manga of the same name. Spy x Family has been serialized biweekly on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ application and website since March 2019.

Viz Media has licensed the series for English release in North America.

As of October 2022, Spy × Family had over 27 million copies in circulation, making it one of the best-selling manga series. The series has been praised for its storytelling, comedy, and artwork.
