The official website of Spy x Family anime announced on Dec 18, 2022, that the franchise will return for season 2 as well as get a movie in 2023.

The mangaka Tatsuya Endo will be closely supervising the film. He will also be providing original character designs for it.

A visual illustrated by Endo was revealed to commemorate the announcement.

Here is what Endo has to say about the announcement:

“Thankfully, this year has brought a lot of excitement to my work through animations. It was a year that went by so fast, with so much happening that I don’t even understand it myself. I have often seen the Forger family around town and on TV, and although I used to look at it as if it were somebody else’s business, I am very happy that I am starting to feel a little more real about it.
Once again, I would like to thank the production team, the voice actors, all the people involved in the animation, and all the readers and viewers who have supported the work.
In 2023, there will be a second TV animation season and a theater version, so I hope that the anime will gain even more momentum in the future. We are also slowly updating the original manga, so if you have come to know “SPY x FAMILY” from the anime, we would be happy if you would take a look at Jump+.“

Spy x Family season 1 cour 1, produced by Wit Studio and CloverWorks, premiered on TV Tokyo and its affiliate stations in April 2022, and was licensed by Muse Communication in Asia and Crunchyroll worldwide.

Cour 2 of the anime started airing in Oct 1, 2022.

The series is directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi, with character designs handled by Kazuaki Shimada, and music produced by [K]NoW_NAME.

Spy × Family is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo. The series has been serialized biweekly on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ application and website since March 2019, with the chapters collected in ten tankōbon volumes as of October 2022. It was licensed in North America by Viz Media.

As of December 2022, Spy × Family had over 29 million copies in circulation, making it one of the best-selling manga series.
