Spy X Family Anime Adaptation by WIT Studios & CloverWorks

WIT Studio & CloverWorks are rumored to be involved in collaborative effort to adapt the popular Manga Spy X Family. A few staff were also mentioned.

On June 20th, 2021, Flutist CoComi, the boy band SMAP’s KimuTaku‘s eldest daughter accidentally leaked the upcoming release of the Anime adaptation of Spy X Family which is set to release in 2022. Click here to check our article covering that news story.

Recently (Oct 30th, 2021), we got information that the Anime would be adapted as a collaborative effort by Studio WIT and CloverWorks. A few staff members were also mentioned.

Character Designer Kazuaki Shimada played a key role in certain episodes of popular series like Fairy Tail, Fate/Grand Order, Another, Darling in the Franxx, etc. as part of the Key Animation team.

J-Pop music group (K)now_Name is a creative unit that comprehensively handles the music of animated works. The group has done the OSTs for series like Dorohedoro, Fairy Gone, Sakura Quest & Hai to Gensou no Grimgar. Check out their official site for more details.

Director Kazuhiro Furuhashi has previously played the same role in notable shows such as Hunter X Hunter (1999), Dororo, Mobile Suit Gundam (OVA) Unicorn, GetBackers, and others. He was also the storyboard writer on the production team of the Anime series “Higurashi”.

Japanese Voice Actor Takuya Eguchi will be playing the lead role as Loid Forger, the main protagonist of Spy X Family.

He has voiced several other characters in popular series like Tokyo Revengers (Shuuji Hanma), Fruits Basket (Kakeru Manabe), Re:Zero (Julius Euclius), Given (Akihiko Kaji), Baki (Kaoru Hanayama) and so on.

Tatsuya Endo’s Spy × Family is a Japanese manga series that follows a spy who has to “build a family” in order to execute a mission, not realizing that the girl he adopts as a daughter and the woman he agrees to be in a fake marriage with are a mind reader and an assassin.

The biweekly Shōnen Jump+ series is in serialization from March 25, 2019, with the chapters collected and published into 7 tankōbon volumes by Shueisha as of June 2021.
