Shueisha‘s Shonen Jump+ app service launched its first permanent manga award titled “Shonen Jump + Manga Award” on Monday, Feb 21, 2022, to select the best newcomers whose work will be posted on the app.

It is a permanent award that can be applied at any time with a deadline set four times a year for each season.
Participants can apply through mail or submission forms during these deadlines, starting with the Spring recruitment season from today till May 31, 2022.
In summer the submissions will be considered from June 1 to Aug 31, 2022, Sept 1 to Nov 30, 2022, in the fall, and Dec 1 to Feb 28, 2023, in the winter.
The results for the winner of the Shonen Jump + Manga Award in Spring will be declared around August 2022 on the official website.
The winning, runner-ups, and honorable mention works will be posted on the app. A prize of 1 million yen will be handed to the winners, 500,000 yen will be given to the runner-ups, and 300,000 yen will be given to the honorable mentions.
To commemorate the launch of the new manga award, SPY x FAMILY manga creator Tatsuya Endo shared a few words of encouragement with Shueisha.
“I think Jump +, where the number of pages and the pace of serialization are free, is a place where you can create works that suit you. We look forward to your contributions.”
The official Shonen Jump+ website will post more such messages of encouragement written by the serialized authors every day for this week.
Participants can look forward to messages from Yukinobu Tatsu of Dandadan, Eko Mikawa of Boukyaku Battery, and Naoya Matsumoto of Kaiju No. 8, which will be released hereafter.
