Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge Of Edinburgh Movie Reveals New Trailer, December 20 Release

Theme song for the film has also been revealed.

The official Twitter handle for Netflix anime revealed a new trailer for Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge Of Edinburgh Part 1 film on Nov 19, 2022.

The trailer previews the film’s theme song “LEMONADE” by Hiroyuki SAWANO and XAI vocal project SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:XAI!.

It was also revealed that Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge Of Edinburgh Part 1 will release in Netflix on Dec 20, 2022.

The cast includes Mikako Komatsu as Meliodas’ son Tristan. Komatsu will voice Tristan as a boy, while Ayumu Murase will voice Tristan as a teenager. Yuki Kaji will reprise his role as Meliodas.

Other cast includes:

  • Koki Uchiyama as Fairy
  • Kazuyuki Okitsu as Priest
  • Yohei Azakami returns as Deathpierce

The film will follow an original story by the author himself and will focus on Tristan. The official website describes the plot as:

Tristan inherits the power of the Goddess Clan and can heal people’s wounds and injuries, but he often ends up hurting others due to his inability to control his Demon Clan power. To protect his family, Tristan heads to Edinburgh Castle and meets a host of new friends along the way.

Previously in November 2021, the franchise released a teaser trailer along with the animation adaptation announcement.

In addition, The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse manga will be adapted into a TV anime. No additional information is known as yet.

The Seven Deadly Sins is a Japanese fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki. It was serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine from October 2012 to March 2020, with the chapters collected into 41 tankōbon volumes. The manga has been licensed by Kodansha USA for English publication in North America, while the chapters were released digitally by Crunchyroll in over 170 countries as they were published in Japan.

A-1 Pictures adapted the series into a two-season anime television series, which ran from October 2014 to June 2018, and one theatrical film, Prisoners of the Sky. Studio Deen produced two further seasons that ran from October 2019 to June 2021 and a second theatrical film, Cursed by Light. Netflix acquired the exclusive English streaming rights to the anime while Funimation licensed the home video rights to the first season.

As of March 2020, The Seven Deadly Sins had over 37 million copies in circulation. The manga won the 39th Kodansha Manga Award for the shōnen category in 2015.
