Re:Zero Season 3 Officially Announced, Teaser Revealed

The stage event for Re:Zero franchise at AnimeJapan 2023 on March 25, 2023, revealed that Re:Zero Season 3 is currently under production, confirming the leaks that were floating around earlier.

The panel was attended by the main cast members of the anime.

A new teaser and a key visual were also revealed to commemorate the announcement.

The teaser previews the upcoming setting of Arc 5, which will be adapted in the upcoming season. Along with the Water Gate city of Priestella, where the events of Re:Zero Season 3 take place, the factions of Emilia, Crusch, Priscilla, Anastasia and Felt are also shown.

The antagonists from Witch Cult too can be seen in the teaser.

No additional details related the anime, including studio and cast, are available at the moment.

Re:Zero season 3 announcement is coming three years after season 2 of the anime aired. As per the leaks on Weibo, the new season will air in 2023, if it faces no delays.

Light novel illustrator and original character designer Shinichiro Otsuka revealed a new celebratory visual in order to commemorate the release of Season 3 of the anime.

Season 1 of the anime adaptation, produced by White Fox, aired from April to September 2016, starting with an hour-long special. The first of two OVA based on the series was released in October 2018, and the second OVA was released in November 2019.

A second season aired in a split-cour format, with the first half airing from July to September 2020, and the second half airing from January to March 2021.

Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World is a Japanese light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shin’ichiro Otsuka. The series was initially serialized on the website Shosetsuka ni Naro from 2012 onwards.

Thirty-two light novels, as well as five side story volumes and eight short story collections have been published by Media Factory under their MF Bunko J imprint.

Volume 33 will release on March 29, 2023.

The series’ first three arcs have been adapted into separate manga series. The first, by Daichi Matsue, was published between June 2014 and March 2015. The second, by Makoto Fugetsu, has been published by Square Enix since October 2014. Matsue launched the third adaptation, also published by Media Factory, in May 2015. Additionally, Media Factory has published two anthology manga with stories by different artists.

In addition to to this, there are rumors that Re: Zero‘s Arc 5 will be getting a manga adaptation.
