Republican Representative Paul Gosar Uses Attack on Titan Intro To Attack Democrats

The parody replaces the anime's title card with an alternate Japanese title that translates to "Attack of the Immigrants" (Imin no Kо̄geki).

Paul Gosar, a member of the United States House of Representatives for Arizona’s 4th congressional district since 2013, posted a political parody of Attack on Titan’s first opening sequence on his Twitter account on Sunday; and went viral.

Attack on Titan, a manga later made into an anime, tells the story of humans at war with outside monstrosities – violent giants known as titans. Gosar uploaded the video to Twitter, saying, “Any anime fans out there?”

The tweet is now unshareable but accessible on Paul Gosar’s Twitter. The video can also be streamed from the link here: https://streamable.com/gyzfk1

The video shows Gosar’s photo over a photograph of the White House. It intersperses clips of refugees with footage from the anime and portrays U.S. President Joe Biden of the Democratic Party as the Colossal Titan.

His political rivals also appear in the video as Titans, including one who appears to be Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who is then killed in the opening sequence.

The video appears to include implied positive associations with former President Donald Trump and U.S. representatives Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Gosar has aggressively opposed immigration to the US in his policies and actions. He has also aligned himself with far-right politicians and activists, including Nick Fuentes, who has expressed denial towards the Holocaust.
