The official website of the live- action adaptation of Reiji Miyajima‘s Rent-A-Girlfriend announced on June 17, that series will premiere on July 3, 2022.

New visual and more cast was also revealed with the announcement.

Newly announced cast members include:

• Aika Sawaguchi- Sumi Sakurasawa
• Hana Kino- Nagomi Kinoshita
• Mayumi Asaka- Sayuri
• Kaoru Noguchi- Harumi Kinoshita
• Shunya Kaneko- Kazuya’s friend
• Kōsuke Suzuki- Kazuya’s friend

Previously revealed cast members include Tokyo Ghoul live-action fame Hiyori Sakurada and Naniwa Danshi idol group member Ryusei Onishi as Mizuhara Chizuru and Kazuya Kinoshita respectively along with Shiori Akita as Kazuya’s former girlfriend, Mami Nanami.  Mio Kudō will star as the energetic and cheerful Ruka Sarashina.

Recently a debate went off on the internet claiming Onishi is ‘too handsome’ for the role of Kazuya.

The series will air on Asahi Broadcasting Corporation TV channel on Sunday 11:55 PM and on TV Asahi on Sunday at 2:30 AM. It will be available to stream on TVer, GYAO!, dTV, and Hulu in Japan.

The series is directed by Daisuke Yamamoto and is written by Kumika Aso.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu (Kanokari) is written and illustrated by Reiji Miyajima, and was first published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine in July 2017.

The series also got an animated series that aired on July 10, 2020, and had 12 episodes. The series is also getting a second season premiering on July 2, 2022.
