A live broadcast on Kadokawa anime’s official YouTube channel on March 12, 2022 revealed that Overlord Season 4 will start airing in Japan from July 2022.

A new PV was also revealed with Overlord Season 4 release date.

It was revealed earlier that Madhouse is in charge of animating Overlord IV and that the anime will have a 2022 release date.

The returning cast members include:

• Satoshi Hino as Ains Ooal Gown
• Yumi Hara as Albedo
• Sumire Uesaka as Shalltear Bloodfallen
• Emiri Katō as Aura Bella Fiora
• Masayuki Katou as Demiurge
• Kenta Miyake as Cocytus

To build up to Overlord season 4 broadcast, the first three seasons of the anime will be re-broadcast on Tokyo MX and Abema TV in one hour slots beginning from Monday, April 4, 2022. Three episodes of the anime will be broadcast every week.

Additionally, a 2D action game titled “OVERLORD: ESCAPE FROM NAZARICK” will be released in the summer of 2022. A game play video was streamed for fans in the live broadcast and an English version Twitter account has also been started.

Overlord IV will pick off from where season 3 ended . A film based on the “Holy Kingdom Arc” is also in production.

Kugane Maruyama began the original Overlord light novel series online in 2010, and Kadokawa’s Enterbrain imprint began publishing the series in print with illustrations by so-bin in 2012. Satoshi Shio began the manga adaption, with art by Hugin Miyama, and started serializing in Kadokawa Shoten’s manga magazine, Comp Ace, on Nov 26, 2014.

The anime television series adaptation by Madhouse consists of 3 seasons with 13 episodes each, with the first season airing from July 7 to Sep 29, 2015. Two compilation anime films recapping the events from the first season were released in Japan on Feb 25, 2017, and March 11, 2017, respectively. The second season ran from Jan 9 to April 3, 2018, and the third season ran from July 10 to Oct 2, 2018.

The first three seasons of the anime will get a Blu-ray BOX release, which is scheduled on June 24, 2022.
