The official website of Overlord anime describes the premise of Overlord Season 4 Episode 3 as follows:

Emperor Jircniv of the Baharuth Empire was in a tight spot. The empire, with the cooperation of the Ainz in the previous war, had won the kingdom almost unscathed. In reality, however, the imperial knights lost their will to fight, having been shown the fearsome power of the Ainz.

From then on, the empire had no choice but to follow the magical powers. Moreover, the trump card of the empire, Fuldur, has also bowed down to the magical powers. Even so, Jircniv believes that the Ainz pose a threat to mankind. He secretly plans to form an alliance against the mage powers.

Overlord Season 4 is being animated by Madhouse. The key cast and staff from previous seasons are returning for the fourth season of the anime. The fourth season is set to have 13 episodes.

Kugane Maruyama began the original Overlord light novel series online in 2010, and Kadokawa’s Enterbrain imprint began publishing the series in print with illustrations by so-bin in 2012. Satoshi Shio began the manga adaption, with art by Hugin Miyama, and started serializing in Kadokawa Shoten’s manga magazine, Comp Ace, on Nov 26, 2014.

Maruyama confirmed in the 14th compiled book volume of his original Overlord novel series on March 12 that the series will end with the 17th volume.

The anime television series adaptation by Madhouse consists of 3 seasons with 13 episodes each, with the first season airing from July 7 to Sep 29, 2015. Two compilation anime films recapping the events from the first season were released in Japan on Feb 25, 2017, and March 11, 2017, respectively. The second season ran from Jan 9 to April 3, 2018, and the third season ran from July 10 to Oct 2, 2018.
