It has been revealed that the release of Oshi No Ko chapter 126 has been delayed for a month due health conditions of the author, Aka Akasaka,
Chapter 126 which was supposed to release on Aug 10, 2023, has been rescheduled to Sep 14, 2023, in Young Jump magazine’s issue #42.
Despite this temporary setback, fans won’t completely be deprived of Oshi No Ko. While the main story is going on a break, illustrator Mengo Yokoyari will be releasing “Oshi No Ko -Interlude-“, a short side story series consisting of 4 chapters, which is written by Mengo herself.
Given below is the release schedule for the Oshi No Ko -Interlude-:
- Interlude Ch 1: Aug 10, 2023
- Break (Obon holiday)
- Interlude Ch 2: Aug 24, 2023
- Interlude Ch 3: Aug 31, 2023
- Interlude Ch 4: Sep 7, 2023
Aka Akasaka released a statement regarding the hiatus of Oshi No Ko, apologizing to the fans, whilst expressing gratitude to Mengo Yokoyari and 5mm-sensei for their support in allowing the works to go on hiatus.
I fell sick a while ago and after discussing it with the people involved, I took a month-long break. I apologize for taking a month off. As of writing this message, I am back to full health and ready to deliver to the best of my ability.
I will continue to do my best going forward, and I hope you’ll look forward to the series’ return after the break. I would also like to thank Mengo-sensei and 5mm-sensei for kindly agreeing to let our works go on hiatus.
Oshi no Ko is a manga series written by Kaguya Sama: Love is War creator Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, who is author of Kuzu no Honkai. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump since April 2020, with its chapters collected in twelve tankobon volumes as of July 2023.
