Sony YAY! announced that it will begin airing One-Punch Man season 1 on Nov 22, marking the anime’s debut on Indian television. The series will broadcast daily at 10 p.m. during the channel’s CR block in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
Speaking about the launch, Ambesh Tiwari, Business Head at Sony YAY!, said the addition reflects the network’s ongoing commitment to expanding its anime offerings.
“The growing appetite for anime in India is unprecedented, and we’re committed to cater to this cultural shift. Adding a title as iconic as One-Punch Man to Sony YAY!’s strong anime lineup reflects our sustained efforts in bringing more globally loved stories to Indian audiences,” he said.
Sony YAY! has been expanding its anime offerings with multilingual broadcasts aimed at reaching a broader viewer base. The addition of One-Punch Man is part of that ongoing effort to introduce widely recognized international titles to local audiences.
One-Punch Man began as a webcomic created by One in early 2009. A digital manga remake illustrated by Yusuke Murata launched on Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump website in June 2012.
The anime adaptation’s first season, produced by Madhouse, aired in Japan from October to December 2015. Season 2, animated by J.C. Staff, aired from April to July 2019, followed by a third season, also by J.C. Staff, that premiered in October 2025 and is currently airing.
