The official One Piece fitness gym, BragMen, has announced the launch of the Luffy-inspired bodybuilding contest, “One Piece Body Make Contest,” in collaboration with MUSCLE GATE.
Fans are invited to showcase their well-trained bodies while wearing one of Luffy’s signature accessories: the Straw Hat & denim shorts.
Contest Details:
Participants will compete by striking poses inspired by Luffy’s most iconic moments while delivering his famous lines, judged on their ability to channel the character’s energy and physicality.
The contest emphasizes both bodybuilding fundamentals and authentic One Piece flair, with strict criteria for physique, costume accuracy, and creative performance.
Judging Breakdown:
- One Piece Elements:
- Knowledge of the series demonstrated through poses and quotes.
- Overall embodiment of Luffy’s personality through the costume and presentation
- Bodybuilding Fundamentals:
- Upper body outline and an S-curve when viewed from the side.
- Rounded shoulders, a toned waist, and a well-defined V-taper with wide lats
- Overly bulky muscles may result in point deductions.
- Smart walking and well-balanced posing.
- A clean hairstyle, bright smile, and healthy skin appearance.
Required Poses and Creativity
Contestants will be required to perform a set of six poses, each accompanied by Luffy’s iconic lines.
1. Front Pose
2. Back Pose
3. Haaa~ (getting pumped up) Pose
4. Gear 2 Pose
5. Gomu Gomu No Gatling
6. A self-chosen pose from the series that best represents Luffy.
The contest will feature judges from the MUSCLE GATE Executive Committee and a special panel of editorial experts from Weekly Shonen Jump.
Those interested in joining the contest can apply through the official Muscle Gate website until April 30, 2025, at 23:59 JST. The competition is open exclusively to males aged 18 and above.
The contest is set to take place on June 1, 2025, at the Culttz Kawasaki Sports and Culture Center.
Additionally, all entrants will receive free access to the One Piece Fitness BragMen gym until May 31, 2025. Contestants will also be given their very own Wanted poster.
