One Piece Film Red’s Release In U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand Delayed To November

The movie opened in Japan on Aug 6, 2022, collecting over 2 billion yen in its first weekend.

It was previously announced through a special video played during the USC Trojans Football Team’s season opener game that the One Piece Film Red would open in the U.S., in October 2022. Turns out, the date for the movie had been pushed from October to November just before the game day, and so there wasn’t enough time to change the date in the video, as per ANN.

Crunchyroll has now announced on their official website on Sep 12, 2022, that they will be bringing One Piece Red Film to theatres in U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand this November.

The release dates for the regions are as follows:

  • Australia: Nov 3, 2022
  • New Zealand: Nov 3, 2022
  • United States: Nov 4, 2022
  • Canada: Nov 4, 2022

Tickets for the movie will go on sale for Australia and New Zealand on Oct 5, 2022, and Oct 6, 2022, for U.S., and Canada.

Moreover, Crunchyroll has also announced to host One Piece Film Red‘s subtitled and dubbed premieres in United States on Oct 6 at New York, i.e., the first day of the New York Comic Con, and in Australia on  Sep 16 at the Crunchyroll Expo Australia.

The film has earned over 13,868,544,850 yen (about US$97.31 million) as of now, overtaking Jujutsu Kaisen 0 as the 8th highest earning anime film in Japan.

Goro Taniguchi returns to the franchise for the first time since 1998 to direct One Piece Film: Red. Tsutomu Kuroiwa will be in charge of the screenplay. TOEI Animation is animating the film with original author Eiichiro Oda serving as executive producer.

The movie features and centers on the mysterious character Uta, who is teased to be Shanks daughter in the teaser. Uta is voiced by Kaori Nazuka (voice cast) and Ado (singing cast).

Crunchyroll describes the movie as:
