The One Piece live-stream program held on June 8 on the official YouTube channel unveiled the main trailer and key visual by original author Eiichiro Oda for the upcoming One Piece Film Red. The program also revealed the theme song and some more cast members.

The main trailer features the theme song “New Era” which is produced by Yasutaka Nakata and performed by Ado.

A total of 7 songs will be featured in the movie namely “I am the strongest” performed by Mrs. GREEN APPLE, “Backlight” by Vaundy, “Tot Musica” produced by Hiroyuki Sawano, “Continuing the World” by Yuta Orisaka, “Utakata Lullaby” by FAKE TYPE and Motohiro Hata’s “Kaze no Yukue” .

In addition, the newly released cast members include Kaori Nazuka (voice cast) and Ado (singing cast) as Uta and Kenjiro Suda as Gordon.

Filmgoers will receive a manga “ONE PIECE Comics-Volume 4 billion RED“. The comic will feature various character settings, story settings, music information in the film, etc. The manga will have limited number copies (3 million).

Furthermore, the official website for One Piece Film Red released the first teaser for the Uta Project which consists of all the MV for Uta’s songs produced by various animators. The first teaser is the “New Era” MV by Uta (Ado) x Yasutaka Nakata. Animator/illustrator hmng was in charge of producing the music video.

A Uta Diary project is also under work which is described as Uta’s short stories produced to talk about each song that Uta sings. A 4-minute teaser video is also unveiled for the same. The schedule for the release of the Uta Diary will be announced at a later date.

Goro Taniguchi returns to the franchise for the first time since 1998 as the director on ONE PIECE FILM RED. Taniguchi previously directed the 1998 One Piece: Defeat Him! The Pirate Ganzack! short for the Jump Super Anime Tour ahead of the TV anime premiere in 1999. 

Tsutomu Kuroiwa returns from ONE PIECE FILM GOLD to write the screenplay. Toei Animation is producing the anime film with original author Eiichiro Oda serving as executive producer.

Previously, One Piece Film: Red announced that the world premiere of the movie will be held at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan on Friday, July 22, 2022.

One Piece Film: Red will release on Aug 6, 2022, in Japan. According to the teaser, the release schedule may differ in other countries depending on their location.
