The official Twitter account of One Piece announced on June 1, 2023, that the English dub of episode 1000 of the anime will be getting a North American premiere at Anime Expo.
The premiere is scheduled to take place from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm PDT at GRAMMY Museum, L.A. Live Roof Top Terrace in Los Angeles on July 2, 2023.
In addition to this, there will also be an autograph session with the cast of One Piece English dub, including Sonny Strait (Usopp), Patrick Seitz (Franky) and Ian Sinclair (Brook).
Live-drawing and a Q&A session with One Piece animators will also take place in the event.
The entry for the premiere will be free for everyone, and won’t need an AX badge for attending.
One Piece is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation that premiered on Fuji TV in October 1999. It is based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga series of the same name.
Toei has developed fourteen animated feature films, one original video animation, and thirteen television specials.
One Piece manga has been serialized in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump since July 1997, with its individual chapters compiled into 105 tankobon volumes as of March 2023.
