One Piece Anime Will Go On A Hiatus Till April 2025

In an announcement aired on Sunday evening during the One Piece News #1 special broadcast, it was confirmed that the One Piece anime will go on hiatus until April 2025.

A special video was released alongside the announcement, teasing major developments including the arrival of the Five Elders and Vegapunk’s transmission to the world.

Additionally, starting in April 2025, the anime’s broadcast slot will be shifted from its current Sunday 9:30 AM slot. This information will be further detailed during the Jump Festa 2025 event.

To enhance the quality further, the Egghead arc will take a break until April 2025. We will return with even more exciting content after the break, with a new time slot. Stay tuned for more information at Jump Festa 2025.” the official X account of the anime noted.

During the hiatus, the anime will air special content. On Oct 20, 2024, a special 25th anniversary anime titled One Piece Fan Letter will air.

Afterward, starting on Oct 27, 2024, an edited version of the Fish-Man Island Arc will be broadcast. This new version will condense the original 57 episodes into 21 episodes, with updates to the animation quality.

The Egghead arc started airing on Jan 7, 2024. The arc marks the beginning of the final saga of One Piece.

After the raid on Onigashima ends, the Strawhats bid farewell to Wano and follow their log pose to reach the mysterious island of Egghead. This futuristic island is where the renowned genius Dr. Vegapunk resides. As our heroes get to know more about Vegapunk, trouble is slowly brewing and approaching the island.

One Piece is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation that premiered on Fuji TV in October 1999. It is based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga series of the same name.

Since its premiere in Japan, more than 1,000 episodes have been aired.

Additionally, Toei has developed fourteen animated feature films, one original video animation, and thirteen television specials.

One Piece manga series, written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda, has been serialized in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump since July 1997.
