One Piece Anime To Return On April 6 With A New Timeslot

The official website of One Piece announced that the anime is set to resume its broadcast on April 6, 2025. The series will now air on Sundays at 11:15 p.m. JST, marking a shift from its previous morning slot.

Additionally, it has also been r revealed that from April 2025, Subaru Kimura will take on the role of Franky. Kazuki Yao, the previous voice of the character helped choose Kimura for the role.

The anime had gone on a hiatus in October 2024.

During the hiatus, fans were treated to a special edited version of the Fish-Man Island Arc, which featured reshot scenes, and retouched art. This version had condensed the original 57 episodes into 21 episodes, with updates to the animation quality.

One Piece is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation that premiered on Fuji TV in October 1999. It is based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga series of the same name.

Since its premiere in Japan, more than 1,000 episodes have been aired.

Additionally, Toei has developed fourteen animated feature films, one original video animation, and thirteen television specials.

One Piece manga series, written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda, has been serialized in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump since July 1997.
