One Piece‘s official YouTube account dropped a new preview video for the upcoming episode 1054 on Feb 26, 2023. The video reveals that episode 1054 will air on March 19, 2023, pushing the release by 2 weeks.

Although, no reasons have been specified by the official sources regarding the delay of the episode, it is most likely that the delay is caused due to the Tokyo Marathon that’ll take place on March 1, 2023.

One Piece is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation that premiered on Fuji TV in October 1999. It is based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga series of the same name.

Since its premiere in Japan, over 1000 episodes have been aired, and later exported to various countries around the world. Additionally, Toei has developed fourteen animated feature films, one original video animation, and thirteen television specials.

The anime series was licensed by 4Kids Entertainment for an English-language release in North America in 2004 before the license was dropped and subsequently acquired by Funimation in 2007.

The manga has been serialized in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump since July 1997, with its individual chapters compiled into 104 tankobon volumes as of November 2022.

As of August 2022, One Piece had over 516.6 million copies in circulation in 61 countries and regions worldwide, making it the best-selling manga series in history, and the best-selling comic series printed in book volume.
