Odd Taxi: In The Woods Anime Film Unveils New PV

The ODDTAXI movie will feature "the aftermath of the shocking final episode."

The official website and Twitter account for TV anime Odd Taxi unveiled a new teaser trailer for the upcoming movie ODDTAXI: In the Woods on Thursday, March 24, 2022. The film is coming to theaters in Japan on April 1.

The ODDTAXI movie will feature “the aftermath of the shocking final episode.” The film’s production was announced on Dec 25, 2021, through the official series’ Twitter.

The cast from the 2021 series would be reprising their roles for the film. The cast includes:

  • Hiroshi Odokawa: Natsuki Hanae
  • Miho Shirakawa: Riho Iida
  • Ayumu Goriki: Ryōhei Kimura
  • Eiji Kakihana: Kappei Yamaguchi
  • Rui Nikaido: Suzuko Mimori
  • Shiho Ichimura: Moeka Koizumi
  • Yuki Mitsuya: Manatsu Murakami
  • Kenshiro and Koshiro Daimon: Kohei and Asei (Miki comedy duo)
  • Shibagaki and Baba (Homosapiens): Yūsuke and Atsuhiro Tsuda (Diane comedy duo)

Director Baku Kinoshita and writer Kazuya Konomoto additionally would head the production of the film. The film’s animation would be done by OLM and P.I.C.S, with Asmik Ace acquiring domestic distribution rights.

Furthermore, moviegoers can avail illustrated merchandise drawn by Ryoji Yamada, who worked on the OP video, along with pamphlets containing interviews of the cast at the movie merchandise store.

Previously, a key visual was released to commemorate the production announcement.

The plot of ODDTAXI is described as:

Set in a world of anthropomorphic animals, Odd Taxi follows the story of Odokawa, a 41-year old walrus taxi driver whose parents abandoned him in elementary school, leaving him generally asocial. However, he usually has conversations with other animal inhabitants who ride in his taxi on their respective journeys around Tokyo, where the series is set. Odokawa’s conversations with these people unravel into a series of mysteries and acts of violence, including that of a missing high school girl. Because of the case of the missing girl, the police have been tracking leads back to him, and now both the yakuza and cops are on his tail.
