The official Twitter account of Nike’s Jordan Brand posted a teaser visual on Saturday, April 23, 2022, revealing an upcoming collaboration with the popular anime franchise Naruto.
The post captioned “The Shinobi Way. Stay tuned.,” has tagged New Orleans Pelicans Power Forward, Zion Williamson, announcing his partnership in the collaboration.
Williamson Tweeted that the “Jordan Brand Zion 1 x Naruto Collection ” is an inspired project and more details will be announced soon.
Japanese sporting goods retailer Mizuno had also recently revealed an official collaboration with the Naruto Shippuden series in January 2022. The unisex Naruto Shippuden x Mizuno’s “Contender Naruto” collection showcases three pairs of uniquely designed running sneakers that each pay homage to a member of Konohagakure’s Team 7.


Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. Naruto was serialized in Shueisha’s magazine, Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1999 to 2014, and released in tankōbon form in 72 volumes. The manga was adapted into an anime television series produced by Pierrot and Aniplex, which broadcast 220 episodes in Japan from 2002 to 2007.
It tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who seeks recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village.
