However, for the first time in the history of the docu-series, they will be interviewing an anime character instead of a real life professional.

Eren Yeager, the main character from Attack on Titan, will transcend the world of anime and make an appearance in an episode of The Professionals titled “Eren Yeager Special”, which will be broadcast on Oct 23, 2023 at 11:45 PM.

It is being done in conjuction to the broadcast of Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 – Part 2 which will air on Nov 4, 2023 on NHK.

Just to clear it up, it won’t be Eren’s voice actor Yuki Kaji who will appear in this NHK documentary, instead, it will be the anime character himself.

The theme of the documentary will remain the same, with the interview aiming to explore Eren’s work style as a soldier of the Survey Corps, what he continues to seek and fight for and what being a “professional” means to him.

The official announcement of the documentary on NHK’s website read as follows:

The anime Attack on Titan, which depicts the fierce battle between humans and giants, is about to air its final episode, the second part of the final season (November 5). In preparation for this, Professional: The Way of Work will give a full close-up of the protagonist Eren Yeager. We will explore the ‘work style’ of a man who has struggled to defy the Survey Corps as a soldier.

What is Eren seeking and fighting for? And what does “professional” mean to Eren?!

MAPPA is in charge of animating Attack on Titan Final Season. The cast and staff from the previous seasons will be reprising their roles in the anime.
